Day 1

I have the wonderful privilege of embarking on my second COSMOS experience. It was great meeting and starting to get to know everyone.

There was a lot of information that they received this morning in lectures. Then they got their first lab working - quite an accomplishment considering that many didn't know what a PSoC was until this morning. There is a wide variety in abilities in the cluster. So students, don't worry about seeing someone next to you appearing to be more or less advanced than you. We (your faculty) know and will do our best to meet everyone's needs. Remember, this experience is as good or great as you make it. If you get done early, think about something else you can do with the board, take the inititave to expand your knowledge! You can get started on determining what you can do for your final project.

Your blog should reflect and communicate your experiences here at COSMS. Invite your family and friends to read your blog since you shouldn't be instant messaging or using Facebook/MySpace during class. It is inappropriate and disrespectful. Use your time to help someone who might be having a hard time, "play" with the board more or to blog.

Finally, I'm excited for the Discovery Lecture tomorrow and the first class of Science Communication. It should be an interesting day! I hope everyone gets some rest tonight, it will Day 2 of the rollercoaster ride called COSMOS!
